This Beginners’ course forms part of The South Asia Festival & Culture Academy, which is a unique partnership between British Council and Edinburgh Napier University. It aims to develop and strengthen the festivals sector across South Asia (Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan & Sri Lanka).

Edinburgh Napier University, in partnership with British Council, are delighted to offer the second edition of the South Asia Festival & Culture Academy (Beginner Level) course, which aims to develop and strengthen the festivals sector across South Asia through capacity building. The programme is accredited online ‘distance learning’ programme between South Asia and the UK for festivals industry practitioners early in their careers.

The course is open to applicants early in their festival career across Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

The 10-week immersive, structured, skills development course, delivered online by experts from the UK and South Asia. 

The Academy comprises weekly workshops over a 10-week period covering topics such as festival marketing, sustainability, human resources, programming and artistic development, budgeting, financing festivals, diversity and inclusion, risk management and logistics/project management of festivals.

Entry requirements

The course is open to applications from those based in Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Sri Lanka.

 

Applications will be accepted from entry-level and early-career professionals with experience of up to five years in festivals or cultural venues/events in South Asia.

Fees and funding

Full cost per participant = TBC
