Mowbray Nursing Scholarship

Scholarship Overview

Thomas and Maureen Mowbray are supporting Edinburgh Napier University nursing students from Widening Participation backgrounds by offering a scholarship to support them for the duration of their studies.

Two scholarships will be available to eligible Nursing students.

The value of each scholarship is £1,000 per year, paid as a bursary directly to the successful students, for the duration of their studies (3 years maximum, £3,000 maximum per scholarship).

The Mowbray Nursing Scholarships are available for applicants beginning their studies at Edinburgh Napier in September 2024. 

 

Eligibility Guidance 

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • The applicant must be studying a Nursing degree at Edinburgh Napier University, which includes the following courses:
    • Nursing Adult BN Full Time
    • Nursing Child Health BN Full Time
    • Nursing Learning Disabilities BN Full Time
    • Nursing Mental Health BN Full Time

  • Applicant must be about to begin their first year of study in September 2024

  • Applicants must be identified as a Widening Participation student from an SIMD20 postcode (find out here - SIMD area 1 = SIMD20)

Application Process

To apply for the Mowbray Nursing Scholarship please complete the application form which you can download below, and return the completed form to development@napier.ac.uk

Applications will be assessed by the Development Team, Widening Participation Team, and where required the Student Funding Team and School of Health and Social Care.

The successful recipients of the scholarships will be awarded based on the priority of need, and by demonstrating their interest and commitment to their studies in the Nursing field. Please bear this in mind when completing your personal statement.

 

Appeals

The decision of the awarding committee is final.  Applicants have no right of appeal.
