Accelerating the impact of community care in Tayside
EPSRC is looking to fund projects aiming to accelerate innovation in a Place based on the research previously carried by Universities. For us, the place is Tayside and University of Dundee, Heriot-Watt University, Glasgow University, Edinburgh Napier University and the University of St Andrews have gathered forces with NHS Tayside Innovation Hub, SHARE, Scottish Enterprise and other civic bodies to not only translate technology but develop new ways for the NHS, academia, industry and civic partners to collaborate in the development of better informed and proactive technological solutions addressing the healthcare characteristics of Tayside, especially for the community care sector. We aim to help develop, commercialise, adopt and promote innovative healthcare technologies for community care into the NHS. This will be done through the following activities:
1. Set up challenges in collaboration with civic bodies to address the barriers and challenges for innovation and define 5 projects that address these challenges
2. Develop an A-to-Z pathway to innovation by strengthening infrastructure (for manufacture) and improving access to facilities, data, networks
3. Building a positive regulatory environment for NHS adoption of new technologies
4. Growing an inclusive innovation ecosystem mindful of patients’ needs.
