The use of Volunteer Employed Photography within undergraduate assessment: A international tourism field trip perspective
Volunteer Employed Photography (VEP) is used within tourism studies to better understand destinations and the manner in which residents and visitors interpret and experience them. Known for its ability to enhance observational skills, VEP has the potential to be used as a method of student assessment, enhancing the academic curriculum, and developing students’ understanding of subject related phenomena.
Whilst acknowledged as a useful tool of assessment within other disciplines, little is written about its utility as a method of assessment within tourism. Consequently, this study investigates the benefits associated with, and the utility of, VEP as an assessment tool for undergraduate tourism students on an international field trip (IFT).
