Fiona Bastow

Lecturer

Biography

Fiona is an experienced nurse and lecturer in adult nursing and is a member of the Cardiovascular Health Theme. She is committed to influencing nursing education in order to achieve high standards in teaching and assessment strategies within the contemporary education and clinical practice environment. Drawing on an extensive range of clinical and educational experience she has developed effective partnerships to deliver innovative evidence based education that supports students to meet the challenges of current nursing practice.

Fiona has developed, delivered and led high quality theory and practice modules in the adult nursing pre-registration curriculum and continuing professional development and continues to be involved in curriculum development and design. This includes theoretical, placement and skills based modules alongside supervision of dissertations, supporting and motivating students to achieve their full potential.
