Ilou John
My name is Ilou. Following a three-year undergraduate degree in International Business / Change Management with a semester spent in Montpellier, France, I graduated with an MSc in International Business Management from Edinburgh Napier University in 2022.
I have lived in four countries within and outside Europe and currently work, amidst a multitude of nationalities, as a Contract Administrator at the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWF).
The journey has been full of adventures: I have worked as an Assistant Photographer, Deputy Store Manager, Student Recruitment Enquirer & Applicant Experience Intern and would love to share my experiences with other students and professionals, young and old, who wish to find their way in the international job market, are interested in Germany as a place to live or would simply want to share travel impressions.
Aside from travelling (19 countries and counting!), I enjoy spending my free time riding horses, playing football, learning to play the guitar and - whenever possible - snowboarding, surfing and listening to the music of local Edinburgh bands. Volunteering for the city’s Hidden Door Festival and the CIO Lothian Conservation Volunteers has also been very rewarding for me.
