STV

Our Partnership

Our links with STV, Scotland’s home of news and entertainment, provides students on our undergraduate Television and Journalism courses the chance to undertake work placement opportunities.

Students are involved in the running and production of various TV shows or live news stories, providing them with valuable industry experience to take forward into their careers in the creative industries.Image of Rachel Harvie from STV

What our partners say:

“STV continue to work in partnership with Edinburgh Napier University to offer students in the early stages of their careers an insight into the Creative Industries in Scotland.”

Rachel Harvie, HR Business Partner at STV.

What our students say:

“I would definitely recommend an experience with STV. I learned a lot, I was given chances to ask questions which were always answered, I got to meet people working in the industry, and I got advice on my CV and how to present myself to employers.”

Rachael Holmes, fourth year Edinburgh Napier BA (Hons) Television student.

"It’s a very supportive environment. This means you can learn a lot, but at the same time you don’t have the protection that you do in University. When you’re working in real time news, you have to get it right. That pressure is scary, but it’s so beneficial because when you get it right it’s an amazing feeling."

Lewis Robertson, Edinburgh Napier University BA(Hons) Journalism student.
