Biography

I am a lecturer in the School of Computing and a member of the Creative and Social informatics research group. My research is primarily based on human-computer interaction, with a focus on persuasive technology and behaviour change interventions. My work involves engaging with user groups to develop rich, theoretically informed user interaction models that may be evaluated through quantitative and qualitative evaluation studies. I am interested in how such user interaction models may be used to address interdisciplinary challenges. I am also interested in conducting research that involves evaluating measures of susceptibility to influence. Previous topics I have worked on include assistive living technology for older adults, social media knowledge graphs for social science research, recommender systems for patients with type 1 diabetes and behaviour change for cybersecurity. I completed a PhD in Computing Science at the University of Aberdeen in 2015, an MSc in Information Technology at the University of the West of England (UWE) in 2011 and a BSc (Hons) in Multimedia Computing in 2009 also at UWE.
