How to Apply

1. Keep the key dates in mind. Most new undergraduate students will apply through UCAS which is the 'Universities and Colleges Admissions Service'. There are a couple of times of year to apply, but the main deadline is usually around the end of January. To start your studies in September 2025 the main UCAS deadline is 29 January 2025.
2. Figure out what your UCAS application needs. You can register on UCAS Hub and log in ahead of starting your application, you just need an email address and a general idea of what you want to study (Undergraduate level, some subject areas of interest). UCAS isn't tying you down to those subjects at the point of registering, it's just so they can give you the right information once you're online. Check out our quick guide to Writing your Personal Statement before you start your application.

After you have written your application

1. Compare notes with friends, and get advice from peers and mentors. Your application should all be in your own words, but that doesn't mean you can't use a little help. It can be great to get support from friends going through the same process, or a teacher, parent or peer mentor could read over your application to check for any errors. Ask someone who knows you quite well, they may even point out something great about you that you missed out.
2. Find out your next step. Some of our Creative Industries courses might ask you to send a portfolio of past work. Some other degrees like our Nursing programmes, will have further stages to your application. Keep an eye on your emails because you will always be invited personally to submit or attend extra application stages.
